Functional Governance

"Functional Governance"

'A Function of Transportation'

Technocracy's premise is that the role of "function," replacing political and business control, is mandatory if we are to survive and continue to live in the technological era which has evolved here in North America.   There is no precedent to guide us from any historical context — only the scientific research and subsequent functional design conceived by the Technical Alliance (the forerunner of Technocracy Inc.) early in the 20th century.

Historically, when human and animal labor was our prime energy source, there were few options available to perform work.   Slave labor, indentured servants, monetary incentives — all controlling and constricting men and women only to be used by others for garnering profit from their toil.   Today, in our technologically advanced society, where 98% of all work is performed by machine tools and systems employing technological advances that require little or no physical labor, it makes no sense to try to hold onto an antiquated economic and social structure that here in the 21st century, is jeopardizing our very existence.   Because of the misuse of technology — profit being the only concern — the toxic residue from the productive mechanism for the most part is not recycled or neutralized and is dumped back into our air, water, and land.

    'A Function For Our Protection'

How much more exhaust gases from our autos, homes, and industries can our natural systems absorb before the world’s atmosphere is ruined and global warming attacks with a vengeance?    How much more toxic metals can we ingest from our food and water supplies before our immune systems completely break down?   With only 3% of all the water on our planet potable; how much more can be polluted beyond the point of usage?   Driving all of these problems is the planet's burgeoning 6 plus billion human populations. Nowhere else but under a functional design could that problem be considered.

As you travel through our web presentation, think about all you are seeing and reading and ask yourselves if anything else can even come close to a solution to the myriad of problems that must be solved if we are to survive and advance to the next level of human achievement.
